On the night of Christmas Eve, Miro is beside himself with excitement
After having run the gamut of emotions in the lead-up to Christmas,
Such as "how will Santa get down the chimney if they're all boarded up?"
And, "what if Santa doesn't get me the Dieselworks?" (panic threatening to overcome him).
We leave out the carrots for the reindeer,
And as Mummy takes the rubbish out, she thinks she sees Santa streaking across the sky.
But there is one more thing to do before bed: clean up their toys.
"You need to put all your toys in the box,
Otherwise Santa might think you've got too many toys
And not want to leave you any more," says Mummy.
In a flap, Miro runs around the loungeroom collecting his toys
And strews a blanket over the box for good measure.
He examines it a little while, then sighs heavily and looks woebegone.
"It's no good," he says. "Santa knows everything.
Santa will know I've got too many toys."
