~ One of the nicest days ever ~

We visit the farm with Vicky Cristina Barcelona,
Where Miro pats sheep, goats and chickens,
Munches cake, yoghurt and strawberries,
Watches the whip cracking (too noisy Mummy!),
Feeds funny camels,
And goes on a tractor train ride.

After, beloved Tomas comes for dinner
And the boys squeal and giggle as dusk turns to darkness,
Riding their bikes down the slope onto the damp grassness,
Eating baked fish while great flashes of lightning in a faraway thundercloud
Give us a fireworks display for hours into the steamy night...

28 October 2011

A beautiful afternoon at Bondi Beach.
Miro practices paddling on his boogie board
And splashes happily in the water.

27 October 2011

Searching out the little radishes
In the verdant veggie patch.

26 October 2011

In the laundry bath
The boys love to ask for water
Which they drink, and fill again.

25 October 2011

Dressing a silly Miro.

24 October 2011

Miro is so great at cleaning up today.
Here he is, picking his books up with Renee before bedtime.

23 October 2011

As the days heat up in Sydney
Miro helps by watering the veggies
And (a little bit) himself...

22 October 2011

On the Bronte train.
Loving it !

21 October 2011

A delicious summer starts with the discovery
Of Greenwich Baths; the honeyed light
On sunset dappling the sand, as the boys
Splash and star jump with their Papa.

20 October 2011

Miro, Matai and Renee make a beautiful chocolate cake for Georgie's birthday
But when we arrive, Miro eats the ice-cream cake instead!

19 October 2011

A day with Din while Nanny and Mummy go shopping ~
Honey jumbles, fruit fruit fruit, and ABC for Kids!

18 October 2011

At the end of a hard day's play
The boys love watching Charlie and Lola,
Snuggled under a bankie.

17 October 2011

The bubbliest bath in history,
Perfect for putting his face into!

16 October 2011

Swinging on the hammock,
The boys decide to wear Hats
And run around the garden with them pulled over their eyes
And giggling all the while.

Later, Miro sees his first rugby match and is mesmerised.
Although he says he goes for the "yellow", he carries his All Blacks jersey around
For two days afterwards, not wearing it, but chewing it lovingly.

15 October 2011

Little monkey climbing up the trees at Centennial Park,
And loving watching his first game of lawn bowls at Sporties.
At the end of the day, Miro says
"I loved today! It was really nice!"

14 October 2011

Sleeping under the peacefully-rotating
Cosmos of his bedroom...

13 October 2011

Loving French playgroup
And Choupi stories in particular

12 October 2011

Pavlova with Granny & Pop.

11 October 2011

Happiness is...
Swinging with your head upside down
On the swing that Din built.

And a blissful afternoon with bestie Archie
On the hammock, and in the jungle
Where the animals abound...

10 October 2011

Pushing little brother on the swing is (almost) as fun
As colliding into him while on it !

Later, spurred by Miro's questions about the sun
Din presents him with an instantly-adored solar system
Complete with "emote" that accompanies him everywhere,
Letting him wonder about the tiny earth
And how Bandoo has day when we have night time.

9 October 2011

Swinging around with the tennis rackets
At a sunshine BBQ with 'pends'.

8 October 0211

Applegobbling Miro and Tai
Frequently reach for the pommes
And munch them around the house.

7 October 2011

vROOOMing!
Down the garden path
In new socks
During some rare spots of sunshine...

5 October 2011

Nanna's smarties are tasty, but always disappear so fast!
Here he is at the park, waiting to see Archie,
So they can play and play, boisterously shoving each other with great big smiles,
And cry and wHinge when it's time to go
(Miro's trick this time is to steal the car keys so we can't possibly leave!)

4 October 2011

Kisses with Mummy in the garden
And giggles with Nanna at the racing car game.

3 October 2011

At last, a sunny day!
Where Miro can finally put to use the tennis set
He's been longingly touching all rainy days past
And gobble chocolate cake in the sunshine
On a brunch with Daney and Din.

An Interlude...

As we're leaving Tom's, with Miro wailing that he wants to stay,
A purple helium balloon Tom gives him on the way out
Is whisked out of Miro's hands by the wild wind,
And disappears into the inky night sky.

Miro is inconsolable, and cries hard until Mummy tells him
As we drive back to the house
That the balloon has been caught by the sky, but that
It will undoubtedly end up in Paris,
Where Bandoo will see it from her window
Floating beside the Eiffel Tower.

Miro is greatly encouraged by this thought,
And wants to Skype Bandoo when he gets home, to see if she has seen it.
Nonetheless, by the time we get home
He is snoring in the backseat, and goes directly to dreams.

Daddy, however, discovers this photo as if by some miracle
Sitting on our computer the following morning.
His balloon! Now yellow
As it must have travelled too close to the sun...

2 October 2011

Rainy afternoon at Tom's...
To the aromas of Indian soup and curries,
Miro discovers Dr Zeuss
And makes a train with newfound friends!

1 October 2011

After a day of shopping and puzzles
The boys soak away the day in a warm bubbly bath.

30 September 2011

Sleepy headed, wrapped up in Mummy's rug,
Illicit nounou somehow found...
Watching Arthur on ABC for Kids.
