26 October 2010

Miro loves relaxing into his bathtime
And often won't get out until he's good and ready
(Much like bed in the morning!)

25 October 2010

Miro is excited to see so many horses at Yarramalong
And gets to meet a pony with major 'tude when we stop by the side of the road.
Possibly a future neighhh- bour ! (bad joke!)

24 October 2010

Miro dancing in his new bedroom while it rains outside,
And later, waiting for eggies at the restaurant.

23 October 2010

Georgie's birthday party, and Miro gets rooftop playtime
With Vicky, Ayden ... and even Matai is in on the conspiring.

Yet after continuously running away with Vicky, into illicit hiding spots along the roof,
He is sinbinned in the pram for five minutes, where the other children look contrite,
And silently hand him trains to play with during his exile.

Later, the storm comes, where the children dance in the rain,
Ushered under cover when the lightning and thunder arrives,
And finally sharing a warm bath, a shampoo, Topi and chocko-chocko at Georgie's.

RAIN !

22 October 2010

At craft today, Miro makes Chloe
A pink picture frame, covered in butterflies, flowers and pompoms,
And insists that it is for her.

Later, at the gym, she will not let go of it
(Even if the pompoms and butterflies later disappear!)
And kisses Miro to say Thank you.

21 October 2010

Wandering the flower-filled gardens
At Nanny's Turramurra nursery
Miro starts his day (at least!) with smiles and gentillesse
Helping her load plants onto the trolley;
Claiming Mummy's hot chocolate and not spilling a drop.

20 October 2010

Playing with the bundles of balloons
That were thrown (with confetti and sawdust) in the boy's new room.

19 October 2010

Miro helps Din bringing the wood in
While Din shows Miro the big earphones.

18 October 2010

Extremely non-compliant
In Mummy and Daddy's bubblegum endeavours
Attributable in large part
To a dislike of dressing up.

17 October 2010

A dab hand at Mum's lipstick.

16 October 2010

One day when a wild wind dumps
Yellow wattle - like snow - upon the street
Miro's hair will not be tamed
And brushing it only makes it a nest.

15 October 2010

Miro loves pouring sand all over Matai.

14 October 2010

Miro is enthralled on his trip to the city
By all the tall buildings... he says BIIIIG house!
Before claiming a fountain for his own special home
And then off to Hyde Park for some noodles.

13 October 2010

The last two days, Miro and Matai are starting to have great fun
Wrestling, laughing and playing together,
Conspiring in happiness on a regular basis.

Here, Miro dances for Matai over breakfast,
And tickles him after afternoon tea.

12 October 2010

Today is the day that we brave the quarry cutout
And test the new playground near the dog-races.

11 October 2010

The windows go up in the boys' bedroom
It takes a Din, More Din and another More Din to lift it,
As well as a Daddy. And Miro to supervise!

10 October 2010

Learning to butter bread for the sandwiches,
Miro makes everyone lunch.

9 October 2010

Miro and Daddy cook Bill's eggs at home
While Goo watches on.

8 October 2010

After cutting snapdragons in the garden on Thursday with Din
(Presenting them with a shy whispered "thankyou" and the world's wettest kiss)
Miro loves to give Mummy ever more flowers that he finds.

7 October 2010

Miro loves ~

Stealing Matai's new pusher,
And compromising by putting his brother in it
(Matai does not like this at all!)

and

Conning Din into the backyard so that he can be pushed on the swing.

6 October 2010

Sleeping cosily in bed
Both boys are fooled into thinking
Each others' hand is Mummy.

5 October 2010

Miro smiles to himself
As he watches John and Bonita play "Stop and Go"
On Playschool (old School!)

4 October 2010

Doing the crocodile roll
As Daddy de-sands Miro
After the Manly Jazz Festival.

3 October 2010

Yum Cha with the Randalls~
Learning to eat with chopsticks
But resorting finally to the spoon.

2 October 2010

On a blissful rainy Saturday
We bump into Cat, Matt and Ayden at the Farmer's Market
And stroll with them to Festival for cakes and icecream.

After, a walk through the giant photographic exhibition
And an idle through the Art Gallery, where pouring rain
Traps us in the bland cafe, turning to opportunity
As we eat more, then brave the drizzle
To dance and watch capoeira in the rain.

Finally, dinner at a family Italian that drew us in
By the faded flowers and 1980s posters; where we conquer the top floor
And munch on rice balls, pasta and salty calamari rings.

1 October 2010

In one of his feral two-year-old moods
Train tracks get thrown around pellmell
And everything (except little brother!) gets malleted.

30 September 2010

Miro is all cheek while Din works on his bedroom
And later learns to lay his first Hebel!

29 September 2010

Miro, Mummy and Matai
Decide to visit the Children's Festival
Where, prior to the knowledge that his photo will be used for something Fun
Miro refuses to smile, and accordingly sports
The saddest face ever to have a funny striped family.

Later, however, he is all smiles
When he is lucky enough to choose
A spunky, hanky-panky, cranky, stinky dinky, lanky, honky-tonky winky wonky donkey.

It's his first conventional toy doudou ever.
"Donkey" for short!
