Niamh is Miro's first love...
Given that last week, when rain thwarted their play date
Miro cried in the deluge, refusing to get in the car,
His hair plastered to his face, wet with tears and the heavens.
This week, the two follow each other around the park;
Miro shares his scooter instantly, without being asked;
And the two move in unison when crouching in the sandpit
Before laughing and throwing sand all over each other;
Sharing water bottles and carrots, and leaving the park together.

As they thrill in climbing the stairs, watching Thomas and spilling milk;
Screeching madly and sharing lovingly.
Miro ends the visit by confiding in Mummy:
"Bicky's nice!"
Later, he and Daddy find a snail in the backyard.
When Miro says DinDin, Daddy thinks he means escargot
And happily remarks on his French heritage...
Until the discovery is made that Miro merely asks
If the escargot is hungry, and wants to eat some of his grass...

Wedge himself under the highchair before yelping for assistance,
Or run full pelter down the three steps, fully seated.
After so much lunch fun, it's no surprise that he won't go to sleep
And Mummy finds him, nappy off, proudly twiddling,
And laughing that he's got one over her.
He can't go to bed with no pants on!
