At Daddy's birthday dinner
A grumpy and out-of-sorts Miro seeks cuddles from Mummy
And falls asleep holding her hair, in her arms, in the restaurant...
But later, when the gateau emerges,
He finds a brief burst of energy;
Just enough for one mouthful of coffee foam!

Making cups of tea and plates of food with pebbles,
Surpassed only by chasing brave blue-backed crabs through low-tide mud,
Swinging the wrong way while eating chippies and chasing pelicans,
And taking the karaoke mike when nobody's looking at Daddy's birthday party...

Sees the day start off with a Skype session to say Happy Birthday to Nanna,
Followed by an afternoon surprise for Aunty Jean's 93rd birthday.
After all the excitement, cheeky Miro escapes into the backyard
And independently lets the chooks out
So that Din will have to come out back
And push him on the swing!

Big boy Bennett is a great cousin
For chasing Miro and Archie through the shops in Darling Harbour,
Running up and down the steps of the playground, and from one end to the other;
For sharing toasted sandwiches and playing cars and train sets.
Miro doesn't want to let go of Bennett's hand,
Gives him Mummy's honoured position at the table,
And only goes to bed when he's sure Beh (originally "Dane"!)
Will still be there when he wakes.

But what seemed like a good idea turns out to be not so~
Miro completely freaks out at the sight of Professor X

And spends many a minute clinging to Nanny and Daddy (she loves it so!)

Miro insists on jumping into the driver's seat of the Kombie,
Twiddling all the knobs, pretending to drive,
Switching on the blinkers, and saying "beep! beep!"

At Miro and Victoria's 2nd Birthday Party
The theme is "Things That Go"
And Miro is thrilled to be dressed as Astro Boy
Along with Matai and Daddy!
He spends the party commandeering Elizabeth's lap,
Scooting under Pierre's tall legs,
Eating gateaux and not sharing his new toys!
(Including an Amazing fire truck!)
Afterwards, he loves Vicky by association
And still says hopefully "Vicky?" when thinking of cake and chocolates.
