And swing gleefully on the hammock.

Early morning surf lesson with Uncle Daney
Sees the mist lift to scraps of sun; gleeful orangesy runs.
Later, after a family BBQ for Din's birthday, the excitement is such
That Miro, Matai and Daddy all fall asleep mid-story
And Camille sneaks in with a camera to capture the cuteness.

Mummy walks out into the kitchen to discover Miro drinking Pink Milk.
"Where did you get that Pink Milk?" she asks, confused.
"I made it tout seule!" Miro says.
Meaning that he pushed the kitchen bin up to the cupboard,
Took out the strawberry Quik, got a spoon,
Opened the Quik and put a spoon of it into the cup,
Went to the fridge, got the milk, poured it in, gave it a stir,
And proceeded to drink.
In the face of his ingenuity, independence and happy smile
How could anyone be anything but proud !

Miro and Din plan a billy cart making day
While Nanny, Mummy and Tai plan a shopping day.
But before we can leave, Miro stands at the top of the step,
With his arm around his little brother,
Saying "Goo doesn't want to come with you today Mummy."
On being assured that he does, Miro breaks down
And says he wants to come, too.
So Din makes the billy cart at home,
And when the boys come back from the shops,
Lo and behold! The best billy cart EVER!
The two can't stop smiling!
As Din pulls them gleefully around the backyard.

Miro and Matai love playing for hours
With Nanny's wooden fire blocks, making houses,
Eating "Smo-ko!", pushing around the washing trolley,
And occasionally taking the time to stop and be a little dreamy.

Mummy says "you can go to school when we come back to Sydney."
Miro looks very sad and replies "Can I go to school here, right now?"
But the school that Miro would love the best
Would have to be a driving school
And Daddy indulges him yet again
By letting him steer around the parking lot.

After his little brother breaks his SECOND glass in two days !
Later, he hesitates, before running with Tai in the pouring rain,
Poring over dead frogs, rolling in the grass, and splashing in puddles!
